Perhaps it is one of the best beaches in the province of Cádiz. It belongs to the Vejer town, although it is closer to Conil.
It has more than 8 kilometers of fine sand, bordered on one side by the Zahora beach and the Trafalgar lighthouse, and on the other by the Conil beach.
It has a nudist area and when the further away from the parking bays, the more private it is. It is very common to see entire families practicing nudism. It has an “atmosphere” area, for the public of the LGTBI community (you just have to ask for the bunker).
The main drawback of the beach is the Easterly wind. Being a totally open beach, it is impossible to enjoy it when the wind is strong. In a few minutes, your towel and yourself will become a kind of breaded croquette, as well as being very annoying. Before you go, no predicted strong wind for that day.
Right in the center of the El Palmar area, towards the Zahora area, you will enjoy several beach bars that will make you enjoy their live music and mojitos. “El dorado” stands out, perhaps it is the most classic place in this area, some have a swimming pool, like the fundamental “el Origen” when the strong Easterly wind blows.
If you want to eat, we recommend the classic restaurant “Casa Francisco”, the usual one, there you can eat fresh local fish, tuna and not forgetting its impressive rice dishes.
Go prepared to spend the whole afternoon because once you enter their beach bars you won’t want to leave.
We recommend the sunsets from the beach. Generally, everyone endures until the sun goes down, the only drawback, the long lines of traffic that are generated at the end of the day when all the vacationers leave the beach.
We hope you enjoy it. You should keep in mind that it is an ideal beach to take long walks, think, talk and reflect.
